Apartment fires in Glen Ellyn and Bloomingdale 5-9-14

Here’s a quick update from John Tulipano:

Just a few shots from today’s box alarm in Glen Ellyn at 503 Duane Street. Fire companies arrived quickly and made a knock on the fire. It was a single room on the third floor, in the rear of a three-story, 50x100 mixed-use building with apartments above. One civilian was taken to Loyola Medical Center for evaluation.

Working Fire in Bloomingdale on May 9, 2014

Another report from John Tulipano:

This was my second fire of the day. I wish I had seen more smoke and flames, but the fire started in a hot water heater flue inside a void space on the first floor and spread upward. It was a three-story apartment building, 50x75 feet, fully occupied. Firefighters quickly knocked it down using one line. The response was fast and efficient.
