Baling Petrochemical rebuilds electrolytic tank to reduce energy consumption

In the first half of this year, Sinopec Baling Petrochemical's Epoxy Resin Division implemented a technological transformation to reduce the electricity consumption of the two ion-exchange membrane caustic soda production lines by 201 kWh/ton compared to the same period of last year, accumulatively saving more than 5 million kWh and a value of nearly 2.6 million yuan.
The annual power consumption of Baling Petrochemical's epoxy resin division is about 320 million kilowatt-hours, accounting for nearly 40% of Baling Petrochemical's total electricity consumption. In recent years, the division has transformed the 40,000-ton/year diaphragm caustic soda plant and the 70,000-ton/year ion-exchange membrane caustic soda plant, using the metal anode electrolyzer to expand the anode electrolyzer and the natural small pole electrolysis The tank was changed to two poles of technical change from the electrolysis cell, so that the electricity consumption per ton of alkali dropped by 108 kWh and 187 kWh, respectively, and the technical indicators of electricity consumption entered the domestic counterparts first.
