Another collection of photos from Squad546 featuring historic Chicago Fire Department aerial ladder trucks. These images offer a glimpse into the evolution of the CFD's truck fleet over the years. Thanks to Squad546 for sharing these great shots with us.
- Former Tower Ladder 10 – 1985 Federal-E-One 95′: A classic tower ladder that served the department for many years.
- Former Truck 4 – 1970 Seagrave (refurbished in 1991): This truck was still active and ready for service even after a major overhaul.
- Truck 18 – 1995 Seagrave 100′: A more modern piece of equipment, showing how the CFD updated its fleet in the mid-90s.
- Former Truck 20 – 1969 Seagrave: Before the removal of its booster pump and lines, this truck was an essential part of the department’s response.
- Former Truck 35 – 1967 FWD/Seagrave: Once known as Truck 9, this unit had a long history before being reclassified.
- Former Truck 52 – 1975 Seagrave 100′: Seen here in the early 1980s, this truck was a staple of the CFD’s aerial operations for many years.
These photos not only showcase the vehicles themselves but also tell the story of how the Chicago Fire Department adapted and evolved over time. Each truck has its own unique history and role in keeping the city safe. A big thank you to Squad546 for preserving and sharing this valuable piece of fire department history.
