Pierce eye candy … Central County Fire Rescue

The Last Dash CF from Pierce has just arrived. This is Central County Fire Rescue's FPD 1, one of three engines in the fleet.

This unique fire truck features a special paint scheme and graphics honoring all U.S. veterans and military branches.

Jim Johnson, President of Pierce, shares some words about this impressive vehicle.

Today marks the 80th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor, and it’s a powerful moment to officially introduce our newest fire truck — the American Veteran Fire Truck by Pierce.

It all began after Marine Lance Corporal Jared Schmitz was killed in action on August 26 while supporting non-combatant evacuation operations in Kabul, Afghanistan. His sacrifice inspired us to honor not just him, but every veteran who has served our country. We wanted something that would resonate with every patriot in our community.

At Central County Fire Rescue, our mission is “Working Together, Supporting Our Community.” Honoring our veterans is one of the most meaningful ways we can support those who have given so much for our freedom. Whether they served in war or peace, at home or abroad, every veteran deserves our respect and gratitude — no matter their background or beliefs.

This new fire truck is more than just a piece of equipment — it's a symbol of gratitude, pride, and service. The truck will be displayed at Fire Station #5, where the community can come and pay their respects.
