Apartment fire in Evanston, 8-20-19

A heartwarming rescue unfolded in Evanston on Tuesday night when firefighters saved two cats and two dogs from a fire that broke out in a four-story multi-family courtyard building on Sheridan Road. The blaze was initially contained to a rear first-floor unit, allowing emergency crews to quickly control the flames. During a secondary search of the property, firefighters discovered four pets trapped inside. Three of them required immediate attention, as they were unresponsive and had to be revived using pet oxygen masks. Fortunately, all four animals survived, and no human injuries were reported. The quick response and skilled efforts of the firefighters played a crucial role in saving the lives of these four innocent creatures.
