Chicago 2-11 Alarm fire, 12-10-14 (history)

Before Engine 104’s station was closed, it was one of the last suppression companies that operated 24/7 from that location. Michigan Avenue wasn’t very busy on weekends, so the station had a relatively quiet routine. After the closure, Engine 104 was reassigned to Engine 1’s station, and 4-2-4 was moved to Engine 26’s location. It was definitely a sad moment for this historic firehouse, which had served the community for many years.
