The catalyst is the first petrochemical catalyst developed and industrialized independently by China National Offshore Oil Corporation. Its single-pass life is twice that of the longest catalyst of its kind. Regardless of the single-pass life or rejuvenation life, the new non-hydrogenation aromatics refined olefin removal catalyst has reached the international advanced level.


According to relevant person in charge of the institute, the new catalyst has good regeneration stability, can be recycled 2 to 3 times, and the life after regeneration can still be maintained at more than 90% of initial use, that is, stable operation can be more than 270 days. It is expected that the overall lifespan can reach more than 2 years.


Catalytic reforming is one of the main means to produce aromatics. The main products of this process are trace olefins in addition to aromatics. To remove the olefins, the product must be refined. At present, the refining process of aromatics complexes in domestic refinery companies mostly uses clay as a catalyst. However, the treatment effect of clay as a catalyst is poor, and it usually takes 15 to 30 days to replace it. It has the disadvantages of high labor intensity, high operating costs, waste of resources, serious environmental pollution, and large safety production risks.
