****Sealed Bid Request: Sale of Surplus Water Tender****

We are seeking sealed bids for the purchase of a surplus water tender. This 1998 International chassis was originally purchased by the Lemont Fire Protection District. The stainless-steel water tank was taken from the previous 1986 water tender and remounted to this chassis in 1998. It has been in active service since then and is now being replaced by a new unit. The vehicle is in excellent condition, with only 29,950 miles and 3,520 engine hours. It has always been maintained by an in-house mechanic, and the fire pump was recently replaced in 2017. All district graphics will be removed before the sale, along with any additional equipment. The buyer will receive all service records.

• No fax, email, phone, or text bids will be accepted.

• Bids must be received by 9:00 AM on Friday, June 9, 2023.

• Sealed bids will be opened at the same time and location.

• The water tender can be viewed by appointment only at the fire station. Contact Deputy Chief Matt Peksa at (708) 243-7652 or [email] for details.

• Minimum bid is $30,000.

• The highest bidder will be awarded the contract.

• Bidders must provide an email address or phone number for notification.

• Full payment must be received within 10 business days of the award notice, or the bid will be forfeited.

• Payment can be made via ACH, cash, or certified check payable to the Lemont Fire Protection District.

• The vehicle must be picked up within 5 business days after payment.

• Once payment is made, the sale is final and non-refundable.

 

The Lemont Fire Protection District reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to accept the one it deems most favorable.
