The Lincolnshire Riverwoods Fire Protection District (LRWFPD) has recently announced several new apparatus updates across its stations.
Station 53 is now equipped with a brand-new Pierce Arrow XT quint, marking a significant addition to their fleet and enhancing their firefighting capabilities. Meanwhile, Utility 51 has been upgraded with a fresh Ford F-450 truck featuring a Knapheide body, which will support various utility tasks at Station 51.
In another development, a new Ford E-450 bus from Illinois Bus Sales has been acquired. This unit will serve dual purposes: supporting the dive team during water-related operations and acting as a rehab unit for personnel during long incidents.
Squad 51 has also received a visual update, with its vehicle now sporting new black stripe graphics that give it a more modern and professional look. These updates reflect the department's ongoing commitment to improving both functionality and appearance.
Photos from local photographer Larry Shapiro capture these changes, including images of the new Pierce Arrow XT at Station 51, the updated Squad 51, and a comparison of old and new trucks. These visuals provide a clear glimpse into the district’s evolving fleet.
