In the first eight months of 2010, Shanghai Huizhong sold a total of 97 heavy-duty trucks (referring to the entire vehicle, the same below). In the same period of last year, the company still had 236 heavy trucks sold, which was the main force of sales of heavy-duty trucks of SAIC Motor at the time. This year its sales have been caught by SAIC Iveco Hongyan. In the first eight months, SAIC-Iveco Hongyan’s sales rose by 30.6% to 145 vehicles, but this sales volume is still relatively low, ranking only 19th in the Chinese heavy truck industry.

Heavy trucks non-integrated vehicles: SAIC Iveco Hongyan ranks 5th in the industry

In general heavy-duty trucks, the sales of non-completed heavy-duty trucks are much higher than the sales of complete vehicles. In August of this year, Dongfeng, FAW and CNHTC sold 63,691 vehicles, 49,375 vehicles and 24,852 units of non-integrated heavy-duty trucks respectively.

SAIC Iveco Hongyan's non-completed sales of heavy trucks for the first eight months of this year were approximately 153.6 times of its heavy truck sales, reaching 22,279 units, an increase of 64.1% compared to the same period of last year, and ranked fifth in the list of non-completed vehicle sales of heavy trucks. Semitrailer: SAIC Iveco Hongyan and Shanghai Huizhong both more than doubled

In the first eight months of this year, the sales volume of semitrailer tractors in China increased by 130.8% to 249,897 units, which was higher than that of other commercial vehicles and all types of passenger vehicles.

SAIC Iveco Hongyan and Shanghai Huizhong are the only semi-trailer tractors produced by SAIC. SAIC Iveco Hongyan produces semi-trailer tractors with a total mass of more than 25 tons, while Shanghai Huizhong produces only 25 to 40 tons of semi-trailer tractors.

In the first eight months of this year, SAIC Iveco Hongyan’s sales of 25 tons to 40 tons of semitrailer tractors increased by 106.6% to 820 units, and sales of tractors with 40 tons or more of semitrailers increased by 195.1% to 661 units. Its total sales of semitrailer tractors reached 1,481 vehicles, an increase of 138.5% over the same period last year.

Although Shanghai Huizhong sold only 233 semi-trailer tractors in August before, it has increased 106.2% over the same period of last year.
