On April 6, 2010, the groundbreaking ceremony for the fourth phase expansion project of Hangzhou Yokohama Tire Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Yokohama Rubber (China) Co., Ltd., was held in Xiasa, Hangzhou. It is reported that the total investment for the expansion is 7 billion yen, and production is expected to begin in January 2011. After completion and production, the company's annual production capacity will be increased from the current 3 million to 5.1 million.

Hangzhou Yokohama Tire Co., Ltd. was established in December 2001, Yokohama Rubber is the establishment of China's first major subsidiary engaged YOKOHAMA (excellent Hallmark) brand car production and sales of radial tires. Since the company started production in May 2003, it has carried out the second and third phases of expansion in January 2005 and March 2008, respectively, and has developed steadily. In 2009, the production and sales of automobiles in the Chinese market exceeded 10 million, and for the first time surpassed the United States to become the world’s largest automobile production and sales country. The tire market is driven by it. Both the original car and the replacement market have significantly increased sales. Therefore, in October of last year, Yokohama Rubber quickly made the decision to increase the fourth phase of the capital increase and expansion of the Hangzhou Plant, and incorporated the expansion plan originally planned for the fifth period into the fourth expansion project, increasing the annual production capacity at one time. 2.1 million to meet China's growing tire market demand. At the same time, the new factory will also pay more attention to environmental protection and social responsibility. At present, Hangzhou Yokohama Tire Co., Ltd. has achieved a “zero” waste landfill capacity. It is also the first overseas production base for Yokohama Rubber to achieve “completely zero emissions”.
