China's high-end rail transit equipment technology "landing" in Europe

CSR Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive Co., Ltd., the country's largest rail transport equipment manufacturer, disclosed to the public on the 15th that CSR South Korea officially laid the foundation stone. The world rail transport equipment technology originated in Europe, especially the high-end rail transportation equipment market has always been monopolized by multinational corporations such as Europe and the United States. In 2009, China's high-end rail transportation equipment entered the European market thanks to the CSR project of Turkey exported to Izmir by CSR. After re-engaging Turkey in 2012, CNR made a bid of 2.5 billion yuan (RMB) for Ankara MTR to become China's largest export order for rail transport products to Europe. According to the contract, the project has a localization rate of 51%. In order to meet customer demand and promote local economic and industrial development in Turkey, CSRG relied on the project to jointly establish a joint venture with MNG in Turkey to be controlled by China CSR Locomotive Company. The joint venture company is mainly engaged in urban rail vehicles, electric locomotives , EMUs, and high-speed trains; provision of after-sales service, maintenance and repair services and overhaul services for rail vehicle products; and operation of import, export and international trade in the business scope of the Company. According to the plan, the project will be constructed in two phases. The first phase will mainly construct the consortium's factory building, commissioning line and auxiliary facilities for production and living to form a new capacity of 200 urban rail vehicles while being compatible with 100 new capacity of electric locomotives to meet the demand of the Turkish Ankara Stainless Steel Localization requirements for vehicle projects, demand for electric locomotive manufacturing in Turkey and neighboring countries. The second phase will be the construction of parts maintenance plant, bogie repair plant, the formation of annual repair 150 locomotive capacity. "Turkey has become the bridgehead of CSR's advancing to the European market through its geographical advantage of being surrounded by the sea and the hinterland by three sides." Zheng Changhong, chairman of CSR, said that after the completion of the Turkish base, a market will emerge that will radiate to Europe and the Middle East and North Africa Of the rail transit vehicle manufacturing base + "4S" shop, according to which CSR will fully embark on the international market.
