Spiral Chute Overview
The spiral chute is a modern gravity separation device designed for efficient mineral processing. It utilizes the force of water and gravity friction to separate minerals based on their density, resulting in heavy, middling, and light products. This equipment is constructed using fiberglass lined with wear-resistant polyurethane and corundum, making it resistant to corrosion, rust, and wear. It is particularly suitable for mining and ore beneficiation, especially for placer mining in coastal, riverbank, and sand bank areas. The spiral chute is known for its low water consumption, compact footprint, high concentration and recovery rates, and strong adaptability.
Applications of Spiral Chute
This equipment is ideal for separating metal and non-metal ores that have significant density differences, such as iron, chromite, pyrite, tin, tungsten, tantalum, niobium, gold, coal, monazite, rutile, and zirconium. It can easily accommodate different feed sizes, densities, and grades, making it suitable for processing 0.6–0.03mm ores and placers. However, high mud content may affect the separation efficiency. Currently, it is widely used in the treatment of iron ore, tungsten, tin, niobium-tantalum ores, coastal and river placer deposits, and gold ores.
Working Principle of Spiral Chute
1. Set up the spiral chute, adjust the vertical line, and secure it in place with timber.
2. Use a sand pump to deliver the ore slurry into the two feeding openings at the top of the spiral chute, adding supplementary water to regulate the slurry consistency.
3. The slurry flows down automatically along the spiral, where it separates under the influence of centrifugal force and rotational movement based on specific gravity, particle size, and shape.
4. The final concentrate is collected in the ore hopper and transported via pipe, while the tailings are directed to the sand hopper and moved to the pond. Finally, remove the sand pump to complete the process.
Structure of Fiberglass Spiral Chutes
Our spiral chutes are gravity separation devices that use inertial centrifugal forces generated during helical motion to separate minerals by weight. Key components include:
1. Separation Hopper
2. Feeder Trough
3. Spiral Section
4. Stand
5. Ore Receiving Hopper
6. Annular Collecting Hopper
