Insulating oil dielectric strength test methods and precautions

The dielectric strength test of insulating oil is a test often done in the electric power and other industries, and dielectric oil dielectric strength tester is designed specifically for this test. In order to do this experiment, we must understand its test methods and precautions.
Dielectric oil dielectric strength test method:

1. The test procedure and method are performed according to the instrument instructions. The boosting speed is set to 2~3kV/s. The static time before the first boost is set to 10~15min, the stirring time is set to 1min, and the six boosting steps are The time is set to 3~5min.

2. On the measuring device, the instrument will apply 50Hz AC voltage to both ends of the electrode containing the sample after the set stirring and rest time, and the voltage will rise from zero to the sample evenly according to the set boosting speed. Breakdown value. The breakdown voltage is the voltage reached when the first spark occurs between the electrodes, regardless of whether the spark is instantaneous or constant.

3. If manual pressure is applied manually, after the sample is broken down, use a prepared glass rod or stainless steel rod to gently stir between the electrodes to remove the free carbon generated by the breakdown. While stirring, avoid the generation of air bubbles as much as possible. Wait 1 minute after the air bubbles disappear, and then apply the second voltage. If it is impossible to observe the disappearance of the air bubbles, it is necessary to wait 5 minutes before performing the breakdown voltage test.
Dielectric dielectric strength test Note:

1. The dielectric strength test is very sensitive to slight contamination of the sample. It is easy to absorb moisture when sampling. Therefore, the sample should be sampled with the clean and dry special sampler strictly according to the electric oil sampling method. The test oil must be placed in the test chamber for a period of time without damaging the original storage seal. The oil temperature and room temperature must be similar to each other before uncovering the test (the arbitration test should be performed at 15-20°C). Before uncovering, gently shake the test oil so that the internal impurities are mixed evenly, but no bubbles can be generated.

2. When draining the original test oil, pay attention to use a dry clean non-contaminated tweezers or a magnetic glass rod to clamp out the stirring slurry. The oil cup is washed 2-3 times with the test oil. When washing, the test oil is dropped from the electrode plate, and then gently shakes left and right to rinse the cup wall of the oil cup. When washing the oil cup, use a tweezers to hold the stirring paddle and rinse it in the rinse solution.

3. Before step-up operation, the connection of the line (connections and plugs) and the grounding of the ground must be carefully checked.

4. The test is conducted at a humidity of no more than 75%. The cooling oil temperature and room temperature can be tested similarly.

5. When the test oil is injected into the oil cup, it should slowly flow down the inner wall of the oil cup to avoid the formation of air bubbles. During operation, it is not allowed to touch the electrode, oil cup and test oil by hand to prevent contamination of the test oil. After the test oil is loaded into the oil cup, the first voltage is applied as soon as possible after ensuring that there is no more air bubbles in the sample (10 minutes after the oil is loaded).
The method of using dielectric oil dielectric strength tester to test dielectric strength of dielectric oil and precautions are things that must be known before the test, which is very important for the entire test.

Gasketed plate heat exchangers, also known as gasketed plate-and-frame heat exchangers (GPHEs), provide efficient heat transfer in compact equipment with a small footprint - much smaller and more efficient than shell-and-tube heat exchangers.
Plate heat exchangers are designed to optimize heat transfer, because the corrugated plates provide by far the greatest surface area through which the heat can be drawn from one gas or liquid to the other.
The units also have a flexible design and are easy to service and maintain.
Gasketed plate heat exchangers benefits:
Precision heat transfer - closer approach temperature, true counter current flow, 80-90% less hold-up volume
Low overall cost - low capital investment, reduced installation costs, limited maintenance and operating costs
Maximum reliability - less fouling, stress, wear and corrosion
Environmentally responsible - minimum energy consumption for maximum process effect, reduced cleaning
Easy to expand capacity - simply add or remove plates on the existing frame
The product range is extremely wide and is used in duties for heating, cooling, heat recovery, evaporation and condensation in industries ranging from HVAC, refrigeration, engine cooling, dairy and food to heavier processes like chemical processing, oil production and power generation.

Gasketed plate heat exchangers may be the industry standard for general heating and cooling duties, but the technology inside a GPHE is far from standard. All plate heat exchangers are NOT created equal, and we've seen the consequences of choosing heat exchangers purely based on cost. We understand cost is important, but in most circumstances the costs to repair or replace units, as well as the inefficiencies of undersized units, far outweigh the upfront capital cost savings.

Types of gasketed plate heat exchangers

Industrial - an extremely versatile range of heat exchangers for use in all types of industries
AlfaQ AHRI certified - similar to Industrial GPHEs, but are AHRI certified for HVAC applications
Industrial semi-welded - used in refrigeration when gaskets are not suitable for one of the media and when higher design pressures are needed
WideGap - used for applications involving fibrous liquids, highly viscous fluids, and fluids containing coarse particles
AlfaVap evaporators - tailor-made, rising film plate surface evaporator
AlfaCond condensers - a compact, plate surface vacuum condenser
Diabon - graphite Heat Exchanger used for tough corrosive media
