The Weichai III diesel engine has recently launched the 6L and 4L series, mainly for medium-sized passenger cars, but it has not yet achieved mass production. Judging from the fuel injection system, Weichai mainly uses Bosch's electronically controlled high pressure common rail technology.

Weichai has different choices of “SARS” technology from other manufacturers. Weichai has external EGR engines and built-in EGR models. At present, Weichai's external EGR heavy trucks have begun small-scale production, and the built-in EGR vehicle products have also been loaded, but have not yet passed the certification of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and sales are extremely small.

From the perspective of technology, with the exception of China National Heavy Duty Truck, the production of EGR “SARS” models of other enterprises has rapidly increased.
