China's Lubricant Consumers Ranked No

At the China International Lubricant Product Development Summit Forum, Yang Daosheng, an industry expert and deputy head of the Additives Research Group of the former Ministry of Petroleum, said that with the rapid increase in China’s auto ownership, especially in the size of automatic vehicles, the consumption of lubricants will be in the world next year. the first.

In 2013, China's auto industry saw double-digit growth on the basis of a low in 2011 and a slight development in 2012. In the whole year, the production and sales of automobiles both exceeded 20 million, reaching 22,116,800 and 21,894,100 vehicles respectively, an increase of 14.76% and 13.87% over the previous year, and continued to be the world's largest auto market. Correspondingly, in 2013, the total consumption of lubricants in China was estimated to be about 7.6 million tons, and the internal combustion engine oil was about 3 million tons, accounting for about 40%. It is estimated that by 2015 or 2016, the total amount of lubricants in China will approach 10 million tons, while the engine oil will exceed 4 million tons, making it the world's largest consumer of lubricants. By 2021, the total amount of lubricants is expected to be close to 12 million tons, of which the engine oil will exceed 5 million tons.

This also imposes higher requirements on domestic lubricant manufacturers. Yang Daosheng stated that China should develop its own diesel engine oil specifications and standards. “Local engine manufacturers should start corresponding engine tests instead of completely copying European and American standards, which is more in line with China’s actual consumption environment.”
