As seen around … north of the border … in West Allis, WI

This is from Crabby Milton:

The West Allis Fire Department held their annual Station 2 open house on Saturday, May 20th. It was a fun and informative event with a wide array of fire apparatus on display. Here are two standout pieces from the day.

The first one is the 2016 Seagrave Marauder II pumper. It looked sharp and was definitely a crowd favorite. The second was a 1991 Seagrave aerial ladder truck, which had a classic look and plenty of history behind it. I spoke with several people who were really impressed with the new Seagrave pumper. They mentioned that most of their fleet consists of Pierce units, some of which have had issues with suspension and rust over the years. That’s why they’re excited about the new Seagrave models.

They also shared that they have two more Seagrave rigs on order for next year, or maybe even in 2019. It's great to see the department investing in reliable and modern equipment. If you had the chance to attend, you probably enjoyed it too—there was something for everyone at the open house. If not, I hope these photos give you a little taste of what it was like.
