CTA elevated train derailment, 8/5/15

This message comes from Eric Haak:

Here are some photos from the CTA train derailment that happened on August 5. The call came in from CTA, who provided an approximate location of 61st and Calumet. However, the actual incident took place just a short distance away, directly over 63rd Street. It was a minor derailment with no injuries reported. Passengers were safely escorted about 100 feet to a stairway that led from the tracks down to the ground below. A fire engine, F634, was dispatched from Midway by Engine 127 but ultimately wasn't needed for the situation.

The images captured by Eric give a clear view of how quickly emergency services responded to the event. Although it was a small incident, the presence of multiple fire trucks shows the level of preparedness and caution taken. One image highlights a firefighter helping a child to safety, showing the human side of the response. Another shows a fire truck equipped with a tower ladder, ready for any potential need. These photos offer a real-time look into how local authorities handle such situations with professionalism and care.
