CTA elevated train derailment, 8/5/15

This message came from Eric Haak:

Here are some photos from the CTA train derailment that took place on August 5. The call was received by the CTA, who provided an approximate location near 61st and Calumet. However, the actual incident happened just a short distance away, directly over 63rd Street. It was a minor derailment with no injuries reported. Passengers were safely guided about 100 feet to a stairway leading from the tracks down to the ground. A fire engine, F634, was dispatched from Midway by Engine 127 but ultimately wasn't needed for the situation.

The images show the response from local emergency services, including a 30-year-old fire truck that was on scene. While the situation was not severe, it still required quick action and coordination between the CTA and the fire department. One photo captures a firefighter helping a child to safety, highlighting the importance of the team's presence. Another image shows a fire truck equipped with a tower ladder, ready to assist if needed. These photos give a real-time look into how quickly first responders react to incidents like this, even when the outcome is positive.
