A new fire department has just been added to the site, thanks to the hard work of Karl Klotz. While we're still waiting for photos of the stations, the Troy Fire Protection District is now live on the site, showcasing equipment from both of its stations. Recently, Troy opened a brand-new headquarters station and started ordering apparatus in an updated color scheme. Until recently, all their vehicles were lime green, including their 2008 International Harvester (IHC)/Medtec ambulance and 2008 Kenworth/Pierce Contender tanker. However, they’ve since transitioned to a striking black-over-deep-red paint job for some of their fleet. Currently, they have four units painted in this new scheme.
Two brand-new Pierce Arrow XT engines are now in service, along with a Ford/Medtec ambulance and a brush unit mounted on a four-door Ford pickup. Interestingly, Troy currently operates two engines both numbered 2221. It seems they haven't yet decided how to renumber the older engine 2221 to avoid confusion.
While we eagerly await more photos, it's exciting to see how Troy is modernizing its fleet and facilities. Their recent changes reflect a commitment to innovation and safety within the community.
