The Broadview Fire Department conducted a live fire training exercise on Thursday at the intersection of Filmore and 17th Street. For several hours, firefighters practiced tackling room fires inside a vacant house, allowing the structure to become fully involved in the flames. Tim Olk was present throughout the event and captured a series of compelling images showcasing the firefighters, their equipment, and the intense fire conditions. Additional departments from MABAS Division 20 also participated in the training exercises, highlighting the collaborative nature of the event.
Tim has put together an extensive gallery of photos from the event, which you can view here. The training provided valuable hands-on experience for the crews, reinforcing critical skills in a realistic environment. It was a great opportunity for local departments to work together and improve their readiness for real-world emergencies.
