Mann provides 9 auxiliary machines for the world's largest ship

The world's largest main ship will use 9 Mann's latest V-type four-stroke medium speed marine diesel engine - 32/44CR machine as an auxiliary machine.

It is understood that the ship is a double-shell lifting pipelaying vessel with a total length of 360 meters and a width of 117 meters. It has the functions of installation, demolition and pipeline laying of offshore oil and gas drilling platforms. The ship is not only the largest ship in the world in terms of scale, but also some of its functions are recorded in the same type of ship: lifting capacity is 48,000 tons, and maximum pipe tension is 1,500 tons.

MAN will supply the ship with nine 32/44CR machines for a total of 169 cylinders; the unit has a single-cylinder power of 560 kW and nine units with a total output of 94.6 MW. It is reported that these 9 machines are 8 V-type 20-cylinder machines - 20V32/44CR machines, 1 in-line 9-cylinder machine - 9L32/44CR machines.

The above-mentioned marine diesel engine will provide power for the ship's diesel-electric propulsion system, dynamic positioning system, lifting equipment, pipelaying equipment, and the living facilities of 450 crew members. It is scheduled to be delivered in December 2009.
