2-Alarm fire in Elmwood Park, 09-30-18

A 2-alarm fire broke out at Elmwood Park on North Avenue, 7840, on September 30, 2018. Here's an account from Steve Redick:

I took a few photos from my location during the Elmwood Park fire. From where I was, there wasn’t much to see, but it sounded like there was an interior fire in hidden areas of the building. I could hear saws working on the roof for quite some time.

The event drew multiple fire units, and the scene remained active for several hours. Residents in the area were advised to stay indoors due to heavy smoke. It’s clear that this was a serious incident, and the efforts of the firefighters were crucial in bringing the situation under control.
